Mit dem Dalmore Port Wood Reserve bringt die schottische Destillerie einen Single Malt Whisky auf den Markt, dessen Lagerung zum größten Teil auf ehemaligen Bourbonfässern vollzogen wurde. Die Hälfte des Destillates hat ein Finish auf ehemaligen Portwein-Fässern W & J Graham's Port Lodge erhalten, während der Rest weiter in den Fässern aus amerikanischer Weißeiche heranreifen durfte. Bei der abschließenden Vermählung ist ein Single Malt mit intensiven Aromen von süßen roten Beeren und Pflaume entstanden. Auch am Gaumen überzeugt der Dalmore Port Wood Reserve mit viel Frucht sowie cremigem Karamell, Röstaromen und Kaffeenoten.

Ein wirklich guter Whisky. Schöne Flasche und guter Inhalt. Ein Whisky der anfangs etwas würzig erscheind, dann aber einen wunderbaren fruchtig, süßen Eindruck am Gaumen hiterlässt. der Abgang ist ebenfalls fruchtig und süß, jedoch ein wenig kratzig. Könnte sich für mich etwas weicher verabschieden. Dennoch ein warer Genuss und sollte unbedingt probiert werden.
